Men's BBS Charter
Welcome to the Men's BBS!
We're here to talk about men's issues and what's going on in our own lives. Our aim is to create a "clean, well-lit space." Imagine that you are sitting in my living room. Pull up a soft chair, relax and enjoy!
The Board, of course, is governed by AnnexCafe's TOS. In addition, there are other guidelines to make this a safe, pleasant and enjoyable space for all. Especially if we delve into "hot" topics.
1. Courtesy and respect. If there's someone you can't stand, just avoid that person, rather than "flaming" him or her.
2. Talk about the issues, not personalities. Not "Bill, you're an ass and an idiot," but "Anyone who takes that position is an ass and an idiot."
3. What's said in the room, stays in the room. Don't take posts from here anywhere else in AnnexCafe or elsewhere without the express, prior written consent of the poster. You can always invite others to come in and check out the post here.
4. Similarly, don't bring posts from other newsgroups into Men's without the express, prior written consent of the poster. You can always encourage members here to go to that other newsgroup, or invite the poster of that other post to re-post it here in Men's.
5. No "stalking." Stalking is coming into a newsgroup for the purpose of harassing, annoying or "flaming" another individual, rather than to participate in the general community discussions.
If you run afoul of these guidelines, I will contact you privately, and may pull the post. Please make sure that I have an e-mail address for you, so I can contact you. If neither Kathy nor I can contact you, I will post a message "Please e-mail me." If you fail to respond, further sanctions may be imposed, up to and including being banned from the Board. I will not use your e-mail address for promotions, SPAM or any other purpose, other than to talk to you about the Board. If there's a pattern of running afoul of the guidelines, you may have all of your posts pulled and may be banned from further participation on Men's.
If you feel the guidelines are being violated, e-mail me directly, rather than discussing it in the Board.
The Board is open to any and all discussions about moderation of the Board. However, I encourage you to keep this to a minimum. It distracts from the ambiance and the other discussions on the Board.
And don't forget the most important guideline: Enjoy yourself! Have fun!
