Think "Talk To The Animals."
Think "Charlotte's Web."
Think "101 Dalmatians," or "Lady and the Tramp."
:-)
Pet 2 Pet is a fantasy world -- a whimsical place in which humans have no voice and the animals are in charge.
You know your pet has been itching to get his/her paws/talons/fins on the keyboard to connect with other critters around the world. You know they have a secret life ... one kept carefully hidden from humans -- who only think they're superior creatures (it's that "thumbs" thing again).
Come on -- Give your pet a break! Open the door for 'em to the Pet 2 Pet newsgroup ... and let them join in!
All creatures everywhere are invited to join in the fun. Their humans will have to set things up for them, of course (thumbs ... sigh....), but once they're set, no humans allowed! This is a safe, fun place for critters to get down with each other and talk about the really important things in life ... such as:
- How to demand -- and get -- gourmet canned food instead of dry kibble...
- How to amuse yourself with pillow shredding, when your humans rudely abandon you to go out for an evening...
- The art and skill of slipper eating (or hair ball heaving)...
- The hilarious fun of tripping your human when he/she gets up in the middle of the night to grope his/her way to the bathroom...
and so forth.
There are no special rules for the Pet 2 Pet newsgroup, except that no humans are allowed [note: sometimes, a pet goes to the Bridge :-( or, in very rare instances, the pets, themselves, might ask their 2-foots for help in explaining something to the other pets, and then human input is allowed], and everyone is expected to be friendly, play nicely with each other, and abide by the overall Annexcafe Terms of Service.
One thing to be aware of, though, is that since they are forced to use a human-oriented keyboard, many of them speak a special "critter dialect" of standard English. It may seem indecipherable, at first, but it's really easy to follow if you just remember that all it really amounts to is a phonetic spelling of regular English words. For instance, in Critter Speak, that last phrase might read:"...awl it rilly amownts to iz a fonetik spelling of regyuler English werds."
Nothing to it! ;-) But there's no requirement to speak Critter Speak; standard English will do just fine, if your pet has completely mastered the language and that's his/her choice.
That's about it -- Hope to see you posting with us soon!
