Open Windows Live Mail.

Click Tools.

Select Accounts from the drop down menu.

The Accounts window will open.

Click the Add button.

The Add an Account window will open.

Select Newsgroup Account and click Next>.

The Add a Newsgroup Account window will open.

Enter the name you wish to appear and click Next>.

Now enter the email address you wish to have show. Many people spam-proof the address.

Click Next>

Now enter the name of the server.

Click Next>.

The Internet News Server Logon window will open.

Enter the username and password you signed up AND validated at the website.

Be sure to click the Remember Password or you will be prompted every time.

You will see a window about Communities features.

You may skip this step if you wish, but it should only take a moment for the next window to pop up.

Click Finish

The Accounts window will now open again.

Click the Properties button while your new newsgroup is highlighted.

Make any changes you prefer in the Properties window and click OK, then click Close on the Accounts window.

It will ask you if you would like to view newsgroups from the news account you added.

At this point you can say no, close this instruction page and click the link on the home page.

It will take you directly to the newsgroup it describes, and you are all set for full participation,

OR you can click Yes and it will download a list of the newsgroups.

It will take a bit, there are about 300

Then this screen will open.

Where it says "Display newsgroups which contain: ", you can type in an interest word to seek specific types of groups.

Or you can browse through to see what interests you.

Highlight any newsgroups that interest you

Click the Subscribe button

You are all set

If you wish to add more groups in the future, you can right click the server icon and click on Newsgroups... or

Click on Tools and then Newsgroups… while the server is highlighted, or finally, press Ctrl-w while the server is highlighted to reopen the full index.

Or you can access a categorized list of all Annexcafe Newsgroups and chats at

http://www.annexcafe.com/newsgroups/

and join a board from there. You only have to configure for the server the one time.
